Creamy Spinach-a winner with anyone!

Call it a spinach Mousse-:)

Having had my meaty burgers, I looked back at the flavours that accompanied beef when I was a child!

May bank holiday

A little personal note!

We had lovely weather here which is very unusual.
We NEVER get nice weather on a May Bank Holiday in the UK!
So we headed off to the park for some fun and picni-ing!

I wont go into the actual Picnic as it was only me and my 6 year old and he wasn't about to be one of mum's food guinea pigs so here he is:

Alex, eating a plain Cheese and Ham sandwich on a Beautiful May Bank Holiday Monday!

Eureka, the perfect Burger!

I wish I could take credit for this, but no.
I read on a blog somewhere-and if it's you please forgive me for forgetting the name!-that the best seasoning/mix for your homemade burger is simply...wait for it...Salt and pepper!

Traditional/Old Fashioned Fish Pie

'Fish pie is a traditional British dish. This pie is usually made with white fish, for example cod, haddock or halibut. It is oven baked in a pie dish but not usually made with the shortcrust or puff pastry casings that is associated with most savoury pies (e.g. steak and kidney pie).
In place of a pastry casing enclosing the pie, a topping of mashed potatoes (sometimes with cheese or vegetables such as onions and leeks added) is used to enclose the contents during baking.'
I wanted to make a traditional Fish Pie, so I turned to the great British Chef that knows all there is to know about British Fish Recipes-Rick Stein.

Portuguese Pork A Alentejana-Surf and Turf

I had some pork loin steaks in my fridge and hadn't a clue as to what to do with them-I'm not a great Pork fan.

I remembered one of my Portuguese favourites-Pork with Clams.

Portuguese Style Baked trout

Not really feeling like cooking tonight (yes, I know, very unusual), and after a week of indulging in English flavours, I sat reminiscing over what I miss the most about Portuguese food.

Seafood Chinese Noodles

You may think I'm going against my Blog's premise as this is neither a Portuguese or an English Recipe, but we, Brits,do love our Chinese takeways.

So in keeping with my recent cravings, decided to indulge my culinary desires and cook me up a good quality Seafood Chow Mein!
